Sunday, November 3 at City Winery: A special event featuring Friend of the Fringe Rahsaan Barber, who will be bringing his quartet (with Bruce Dudley, John Birdsong & Chester Thompson) to City Winery for a performance of Hank Mobley’s Soul Station. The show kicks off at 7pm.

Please join Friend of the Fringe Rahsaan Barber and Shannon Williford as they take the stage at the 2017 Jefferson Street Jazz & Blues Festival Saturday, June 17. Barber’s set (which will feature Kelli Cox on keys, Mike Rinne on bass, and Joshua Hunt on drums) is slated for 3:00pm while Williford (with Bentley Caldwell and Casey Lutton) will follow at 4:00pm with his tribute to Gregg Allman at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall Amphitheater. Jazz Music City Records and the Nashville Fringe Festival present the Nashville Jazz Orchestra, directed by trumpeter/composer Jim Williamson, along with the Jazz Music City All-Stars (featuring Rahsaan Barber, Imer Santiago, Bruce Dudley and Marcus Finnie). The NJO will be performing a special concert celebrating the release of “It Ain’t Necessarily So,” a dynamic big-band recording of music by the great George Gershwin.
